With the sun high in the sky and a brisk wind along the beautiful Mississippi River, about 2,600 Get Lucky 7K runners came out for a fun race on Saturday, March 20th.

As the sun rose packet pickup was going full-steam ahead!  The festive music playing and great volunteers who were really into the Irish spirit made the day even more memorable, “I was impressed by the energy and how psyched up people were,” said Race Director Mike Swanson, “…the volunteers were so energized for the Get Lucky!” Then off to the starting line near the Stone Arch Bridge, along West River Parkway in Minneapolis. As race time got closer, there was a sea of people from the start line back through the start corral. The sight was impressive, said Swanson, “THAT’S what nearly 3,000 people looks like."

The cool tattoos have arrived, the course is certified, Irish dancers are practicing, and the bib numbers are in.  Everything is coming together for Team Ortho Foundation's inaugural Get Lucky 7K presented by Kieran's Irish Pub.  Executive Director John Larson is so pumped for race day, look at his office window (picture at right)!  He's got March Medal Madness!  You will too when you come down for the Get Lucky race on Saturday, March 20th!

Team Ortho Foundation is proud to announce that we handed over our first donation check from proceeds from the Get Lucky!7K.

$1.00 for each registered runner was donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation to partially support Kieran Folliard's commitment to send a boy to the World Cup in South Africa.  Folliard owns several restaurants in the Twin Cities area, including Kieran's Irish Pub which is sponosoring our Get Lucky race on March 20th.

"We are proud to support Kieran's impressive effort to help this family, " Executive Director John Larson said. "This donation is possible because of our incredible support from our participants."

Kieran's will be hosting a party at their new Irish Pub location at Block E following the Get Lucky.

This race filled up fast and registration is currently closed. This volunteer opportunity is a great way to still get involved. We promise it will be both exciting and energizing to all those who come ready.

We are offering a new incentive to volunteers at this race. Any volunteer who commits and works a total of 5 hours will receive a promotional Get Lucky sweatshirt valued at over $40 dollars. Any hours volunteered after the first 5 will go toward our Bones Incentive Program. Any volunteers who commit and volunteer for less than 5 hours will not receive the sweatshirt but will still receive bones.
