The Minneapolis Duathlon, a premier multisport event, became the largest du in America in our inaugural year (2009). We hope on August 29th, 2010 you can help us make it the largest in the world!

The Minneapolis Duathlon includes a 3.1-mile run, 18-mile bike, and a 3.1-mile run which can be done individually or as a 2- or 3-person relay. The event also two separate events: a 17.5-mile individual bike time trial and a 5K run. All of the races happen along the scenic Mississippi River and historic Nicollet Island near downtown Minneapolis. It is a beautiful, rolling course perfect for athletes of who have different levels of experience. We would love for you, your friends and family to join us! And if we make that goal there will be champagne at the finish line!

Each of these races, whether you do them as an individual or as a relay, offers the third piece of our 2010 4-medal series: the stained glass Minneapolis Duathlon medal. Plus athletes get

a free bento box for their bike with each registration.

Team Ortho Foundation wants to keep every BODY active, whether it’s their first race or if they’re a multisport veteran. As a result we don’t limit our bike categories. For the duathlon and the time trial prizes are awarded in each of these bike categories: road, mountain, commuter and single speed. Plus, we want you to be prepared for the big race, by offering FREE du training sessions (watch for more information in the summer of 2010).

“The Minneapolis Duathlon is a very special event. By marrying the two communities of cycling and running, we meet so many needs of athletes out there. The 2009 event really surpassed all of our expectations, and we expect the same for 2010,” said John Larson, executive director of Team Ortho Foundation which organizes this and three running races each year.

“The race only reaffirmed what I had already known…I love duathlons,” one Minneapolis Duathlete recalled in 2009. Team Ortho Foundation hope you can have the chance to experience that too. Join us in our quest to get every BODY active as we aim to become the Largest Du in the World!
